We use aquatic therapy as an adjunct to land-based therapy.
Our specialty-trained aquatic therapists will help patients reach their goals and provide treatments in a safe environment taking into consideration the transition to land-based functional activities. Water's natural properties create an ideal therapeutic environment. The buoyancy reduces body weight and provides support, which allows for greater movement with less pain.
Conditions we treat include but are not limited to:
Aquatic physical therapy is typically prescribed for patients who have difficulty performing daily activities because of significant pain or weakness while moving or walking. This type of therapy also is recommended for those who, due to injury or surgery, have been advised to limit movement.
Why choose aquatic therapy?
Aquatic physical therapy takes advantage of water's soothing properties to help patients start rehabilitation earlier, move more freely, and resume daily activities sooner.
