Shelby graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2018 with a Bachelors of Science in Health and Exercise Science. She then attended the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to obtain her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2020. She has been working in outpatient orthopedics specializing in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation since early 2021.
Her favorite parts about being an occupational therapist in this setting include connecting human anatomy to activity performance, fabricating orthotics, and making meaningful connections with patients to help them return to the activities they want and need for daily life. Regaining motion and strength is important, but being able to use those gains for your desired occupations is the most important!
Shelby was born and raised in North Texas and is grateful to give back to the community that helped her grow. In her free time she enjoys watching sports, traveling, reading, yoga, attending concerts, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
